Snapshot Sunday: Sunrise on the Ganges

Varanasi Ghat
A Morning Bath in the Ganges – Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh – India

Worshipped as the Goddess Ganga, the Ganges River is the most sacred river to Hindus. Even though the river has been declared too polluted for bathing (or anything, really), Hindus carry on in an effort to cleanse themselves of sins. Each day more than 60,000 people take a dip off the ghats in Varanasi.
